About The Position

This position provides direct clinical patient care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care for assigned patients on a per-shift and unit-level basis. The role includes supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supporting the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice the profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
AHA BLS certification.
AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification if applicable under corporate policy for the unit of hire.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
Recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective total nursing care to patients.
Coordinate and integrate patient care using the nursing process.
Direct care according to established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards, with the goal of discharging patients after providing an optimum level of care.
Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regimen.
Administer medications safely and promptly according to hospital policy.
Fulfill Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies or disasters.
Know the hospital emergency codes, their purposes, and the appropriate actions for each, and follow hospital policies and procedures for emergency codes.
Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
Support the CNO in ensuring quality and safety of nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate patient-care resource management.
