About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides care on E4 Cardiology Telemetry, a 28-bed unit that serves as the central cardiac monitoring site for inpatient floors. The role demonstrates clinical competence through use of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. The nurse assesses and identifies patient problems and needs, establishes a plan of care, implements care, and evaluates the care provided. The team uses innovative technology to deliver patient- and family-centered care in a compassionate environment focused on caring and healing.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of Nursing.
• At least one year of RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Pass the dysrhythmia test within three months of hire.
• Pass the BKAT with a score of 80% or complete a critical care course within one year of hire.
• Obtain and maintain department-specific certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in this clinical area preferred.
