About The Position

South Sound Behavioral Hospital (SSBH) is seeking a motivated, dependable, and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional direct care and support to patients. The RN will assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to SSBH's philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles. This role involves actively engaging in the healthcare team, offering direct and indirect care, continuously assessing patients' physical and psychological conditions, and upholding a safe therapeutic environment. The RN will collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of tailored goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric challenges.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
  • Able to produce a valid Washington State RN license.
  • At least three years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility.
  • Demonstrate exceptional crisis management and time management skills.
  • Flexibility and creativity with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Calm, organized, and professional demeanor even in stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.
  • Actively engage in the health care team, offering direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
  • Assess patients' physical and psychological conditions continuously throughout their care journey.
  • Utilize the nursing process in alignment with the philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles of SSBH.
  • Uphold a safe therapeutic environment grounded in our core values.
  • Collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, actively contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of tailored goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric challenges.
