About The Position

Deaconess Illinois Medical Center is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join its Emergency Department team. The ER Nurse provides critical care to patients in emergency situations by assessing and prioritizing needs, administering treatments, performing life-saving procedures, and coordinating care with other medical professionals. The role also includes documenting patient information, managing crises, and providing emotional support to patients and families. Quick decision-making and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations are essential. The nurse works in a collaborative, supportive environment to provide safe, patient-centered care.

Requirements

• License to practice in the State of Illinois.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required within 3 months of the start date.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physical stamina and emotional stability.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of previous experience in a clinical unit.
• Emergency Communication Registered Nurse (ECRN) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• START/JumpStart certification, to be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer.
