Responsible for providing professional nursing care for SIH patients. This role requires assessing patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs, establishing a compassionate environment, and providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team. Additionally, the role involves health teaching and counseling to promote optimal patient health, utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking to manage changes in patient condition, and ensuring complete, accurate, and timely documentation in patient medical records. The position also contributes to the development of policies and procedures for patient safety and quality of care, supervises and delegates responsibilities to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistants, serves as a patient advocate, and ensures timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure. The nurse may also be required to float to other SIH nursing units within their competency level.
