About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) - Level 1 Trauma Center. This is a Part Time position, primarily working weekends. A Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Assistance are available for qualified candidates. The Norfolk General Hospital's Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit, equipped to handle a variety of medical emergencies, with approximately 10% being Trauma related. Sentara Norfolk General Emergency Department is recognized with the Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses’ Association for exceptional leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the region’s first Magnet Hospital, a 525-bed medical center, and serves as a primary teaching facility with the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center. The facility includes four intensive care units and two intensive care units within its 112-bed Nationally Ranked Heart Hospital. This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overall patient care responsibility.
