About The Position
Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Tele PCU – Full Time Nights Bring you passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Cardiac Tele PCU is a 24 bed post interventional unit mixed with medical telemetry providing comprehensive post interventional cardiac care to patients from admission to discharge. We specialize in the care of cardiovascular patients which includes Heart Failure, AMI and Arrhythmia patients, pre and post interventional patients (Cath, Ablations, & Pacemakers). Self-scheduling which helps with the work/life balance as well. AMI program has achieved the trifecta of awards for the 2nd year in a row from the American Heart Association and National Cardiovascular Data.
Requirements
- Diploma Nurse required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required.
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- PCU, Step-down Intermediate, Cardiac Tele highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
