About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role involves assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, monitoring responses to treatment, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes. The ICU is a 16-bed unit serving medical, surgical, cardiac, and some trauma patients, with typical patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity. The position is based in College Station, Texas, and works nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with self-scheduling.
Requirements
- Current RN license.
- Graduation from an accredited program; specialized field of study must be nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, patient safety practices, and medication administration.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize care and respond effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment.
- BLS certification, or obtain it within 30 days of starting in the role.
- All certifications must be from AHA.
