About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a RN Traveler for their Stepdown IMCU & Med-Surg floor. This is a 14-week assignment for a Temporary Full Time position. The Burn Trauma unit is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate Care and Medical/Surgical unit, with 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate care and 17 beds for Medical/Surgical care. The patient population includes neurosurgery, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss. Nurses are trained to work both intermediate and medical-surgical sides. The nurse to patient ratio for Intermediate Care beds is 3 to 4, and for Medical/Surgical beds is 5 to 6. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively as part of a team to maintain and support nursing care standards and meet patient, family, and community healthcare needs.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS
NIH Stroke Scale
2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience
