About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides treatment and care for surgical patients before, during, and after procedures. The role includes recording patient symptoms, administering medications, assisting with rehabilitation, educating patients and family members about medical conditions, and providing emotional support. The RN works as part of the surgical team to coordinate and deliver patient care.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within one year of employment.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of related work experience in a surgical or operating room environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during pre-surgical, operative, and recovery periods.
• Collaborate daily with medical staff and other departments to coordinate patient care.
• Adhere to compliance standards, ASC philosophies, standards of care established by the state board of nursing and state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations and calling for assistance from healthcare support personnel when needed.
• Follow infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled-substance regulations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations.
