About The Position
The Intensive Care / Coronary Care Registered Nurse coordinates nursing care for critically ill patients in the units. Patient populations and conditions include post-operative, ventilated, post-cardiac-arrest, post-heart-catheterization, hemodynamic stabilization, and other critical-care patients. The nurse responds to codes and emergencies as a member of the hospital team, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary staff and other members of the patient-care team to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the intensive care / coronary care setting.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of nursing care for critically ill patients, including post-operative, ventilated, post-cardiac-arrest, post-heart-catheterization, and hemodynamic-stabilization patients.
- Respond to code and emergency situations as a member of the hospital team.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Provide leadership and collaborate with ancillary personnel and other patient-care team members to maintain professional nursing practice standards.
