About The Position

The Hospice RN – Regional Support provides direct, compassionate nursing care to hospice patients and support to their families. The nurse may be temporarily assigned to different hospice branches to address census needs or staffing gaps, traveling to assigned Gentiva locations. Travel arrangements vary and may involve overnight stays locally, across multiple states, or as assignment needs dictate. A company fleet car is provided for eligible employees. The role typically follows a Monday–Friday schedule and includes occasional on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of employment.
At least 1 year of RN experience in hospice, home health, acute care, long-term care, oncology, or another high-acuity setting.
Current CPR certification.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to hospice patients.
Manage and implement individualized plans of care.
Support and lead interdisciplinary team members, including LPNs, CNAs, and HHAs.
Assess and address patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental needs.
Document care accurately and ensure compliance with hospice protocols.
Educate families and caregivers about care instructions, medications, and safety.
Participate in the on-call rotation and provide after-hours care as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, referral sources, and the care team.
Assist with referrals, regulatory documentation, and payer compliance.
Travel to assigned Gentiva hospice locations to fill urgent needs.
