Position Summary As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering quality nursing care within a therapeutic environment. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient recovery, promote safety, and provide exceptional care to patients and their families.

Requirements

Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact State RN license eligible to practice in Texas.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
De-escalation Training: Handle with Care (HWC) certification.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

Previous behavioral health, psychiatric, or pediatric nursing experience.
Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to children, adolescents, and adults receiving behavioral health services.
Conduct nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
Observe and report changes in patient condition and communicate concerns to the treatment team.
Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement treatment plans and achieve patient goals.
Participate actively in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
Advocate for patient needs, rights, and overall well-being.
Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and team members.
Promote a safe, supportive, and therapeutic treatment environment.
Support and assist fellow nursing staff as needed.
Serve as a positive role model within the organization.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
