Registered Nurse - L&D
About The Position
Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. This position is in the LDRP department and requires one year of Labor & Delivery RN experience. The position requires BLS and a Florida Registered Nurse license. NRP certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire, and ACLS certification within 120 days of hire. OB/Neonatal certifications obtained during employment must be maintained for the remainder of employment. Individuals providing care to vulnerable populations must undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Requirements
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
- For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe specified in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS certification within 120 days of hire.
- Maintain any OB/Neonatal certifications obtained during employment, including Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification, Maternal-Newborn Nursing Certification, Low Risk Neonatal Certification, or any Lactation Certification.
- One year of Labor & Delivery RN experience.
- BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR.
- FL RN: Florida Registered Nurse License.
- Undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
