Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides safe and effective patient care by performing specific duties as the Surgical Technician in the Operating Room during surgical and other invasive procedures, under the direction of a registered nurse. The role performs routine scrub duties according to AORN standards and the department of surgery’s established policies and procedures, and helps maintain a safe environment. The nurse keeps current with operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies, and equipment, and assists with the ongoing Performance Improvement Program. Flexible hours and on-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved operating room technician program.
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Demonstrate yearly competencies specific to the unit.
- Ability to take call.
