About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing the health and medical needs of individuals receiving services through Doma. The RN provides nursing assessments, health monitoring, medication administration oversight, staff training, and delegated nursing services in accordance with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) regulations, Ohio Board of Nursing requirements, Medicaid standards, and organizational policies. This position partners closely with Program Managers, Supervisors, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), physicians, pharmacies, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure individuals receive safe, high-quality, person-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel between service locations.
  • Experience training adult learners.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and assess individuals in various residential settings.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and computer use.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in community-based services, residential services, or long-term care.
  • Experience with DODD medication administration certification training.
  • Experience providing nursing delegation.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid waiver services and DODD regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing assessments and health evaluations for individuals served.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized health care plans.
  • Review physician orders and ensure accurate implementation.
  • Monitor chronic health conditions and communicate changes in condition.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up care as needed.
  • Review medication regimens for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and ISP development.
  • Provide clinical consultation to operations and direct care staff.
  • Ensure compliance with DODD, Medicaid, and nursing regulations.
  • Provide nursing delegation in accordance with Ohio Board of Nursing and DODD requirements.
  • Conduct individual-specific medication administration training.
  • Verify competency of delegated staff prior to authorization.
  • Complete required documentation related to nursing delegation and medication administration.
  • Perform medication administration audits and MAR reviews.
  • Monitor medication errors and develop corrective action plans.
  • Investigate medication-related incidents and provide follow-up education.
  • Maintain oversight of delegated nursing tasks and health-related activities.
  • Ensure medication administration certifications remain current.
  • Serve as a resource for medication-related questions and concerns.
  • Conduct DODD Medication Administration Certification training.
  • Provide annual medication administration refreshers and competency evaluations.
  • Train staff on medication administration procedures, infection prevention and control, diabetes management, seizure protocols, health-related activities, delegated nursing tasks, documentation standards, and emergency medical procedures.
  • Develop training materials and educational resources.
  • Maintain training records and competency documentation.
  • Support new employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Conduct routine health and medication audits.
  • Ensure compliance with DODD medication administration requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Review incident reports related to health and medical services.
  • Assist with regulatory surveys and licensing reviews.
  • Monitor compliance with physician orders and treatment plans.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance quality and safety.
