About The Position

Join Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! This is a Full Time position working 12 Hour Nights on the C-3 Medical Telemetry unit. Our C-3 Medical Telemetry is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Our leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population can be diverse, encompassing individuals of different ages, genders, cultures, and medical conditions, requiring immediate medical attention due to severe illnesses, injuries, or surgical procedures. This may include patients with acute respiratory distress, cardiac emergencies, infections, traumatic injuries, or complications from chronic conditions. It is expected to care for patients who are on isolation precautions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. The unit has a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 and 14 beds. The department offers an upbeat, cohesive, and positive work environment. Requirements

  • Grad of an Accredited Program
  • 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
  • RN license
  • Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role
  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
  • Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
  • Understand hospital procedures and rules.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
  • Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care using a professional practice model.
  • Conduct patient assessment, recognizing health issues.
  • Create and implement care plans, assessing patient responses.
  • Adjust care plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members on healthcare choices.
  • Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan.
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth.
  • Contribute to peers' development and show community service commitment.
