As an Emergency Department RN at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC), you’ll deliver rapid, evidence-based care to patients of all ages while collaborating closely with an experienced ED team. Requirements

  • Current Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact RN eligible).
  • BLS and ACLS (AHA) active at hire.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 3 months of hire.
  • Pediatric credential: PALS or ENPC within 6 months of hire.
  • TNCC within 12 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with providers, staff, patients, and families; proficient English reading/writing/speaking.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year Emergency or Critical Care RN experience; 2–5 years total RN experience.
  • CEN certification.
  • Strong assessment/triage skills and experience across cardiac, trauma, medical/surgical, and pediatric emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care using the full nursing process in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting.
  • Triage, assess, treat, and educate patients.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with physicians, EMS, and hospital departments to ensure timely, safe care.
  • Triage and rapidly assess patients; identify and respond to life-threatening conditions.
  • Deliver age-appropriate emergency care (cardiac, trauma, medical/surgical, pediatric).
  • Administer medications and therapies per protocols; monitor and document patient responses.
  • Coordinate patient care with ED physicians, hospitalists, specialists, and ancillary departments.
  • Support and precept EMT, paramedic, and nursing students within approved guidelines.
  • Uphold infection prevention standards and ED safety practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement, required in-services, and ED staff meetings.
  • Communicate with patients and families in a kind, clear, and culturally sensitive manner.
