Temporary Registered Nurse (Oneonta, NY) – Youth Residential Program
About The Position
PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide on-site medical and wellness services within a federally supported residential youth program in Oneonta, New York. This role supports the Health & Wellness program through direct patient care, prevention initiatives, health education, and coordination with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary staff. The program serves young adults, ages 16–24, with the mission to prepare participants for meaningful employment and independent living. The Registered Nurse will collaborate closely with residential and program staff in a structured, community-based environment.
Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a clinical, school-based, residential, or community health setting.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with adolescents or young adults.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site nursing services within the scope of practice under the applicable state nurse practice act and facility Wellness Guidelines.
- Triage urgent and emergent medical situations.
- Provide first aid, clinical assessments, and basic treatment.
- Monitor students with chronic health conditions.
- Administer medications and assist with examinations.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation and records.
- Track laboratory results, immunizations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Deliver individual and group health education sessions.
- Maintain medical and prescription supply inventories.
- Provide staff training on health and wellness topics.
- Collaborate with community healthcare partners and program leadership.
- Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.
- Mentor students through professional role modeling and participation in program initiatives as assigned.
