About The Position

The Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) on the Renal Telemetry unit at St. Rita's Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The role uses organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, applies a diverse medical skillset and clinical nursing interventions, and develops and carries out patient care plans to improve outcomes while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Requirements

• One year of RN experience is required.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status using strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Provide care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses.
• Implement clinical nursing interventions.
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, document in charts, and assess patient condition.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with the State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
