Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work in the Emergency Department at CVPH – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, a Level 3 Trauma Center. The department has 29 beds, including 4 beds in the Behavioral Decision Unit (BDU), and a 7-bed Fast Track. Nurses are supported in obtaining and maintaining TNCC certification. This is a full-time, bargaining union position. The primary shift is 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with every other weekend required. On-call is not required. External candidates may be eligible for a one-time $10,000 RN sign-on bonus, subject to terms and conditions; current University of Vermont Health employees are excluded.
Requirements
- Must pass the Critical Care Exam/Emergency Care Exam within 1 month of employment or hold a current CEN certificate.
- BLS or ACLS certification is required; ACLS certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- ENPC or PALS certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- TNCC certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
