Registered Nurse (RN) IMC Department Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better + Together. Work hours: Full Time Days (7A-7P) 36hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements. Department highlights: Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. Fast-Paced, high-volume department averaging 200 patients/day. 12 bed Intermediate Care Unit that is like family with an opportunity to train in ICU.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- ACLS within 90 days required.
- CPI within 90 days required.
- 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- 2+ years experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred.
- Med/surg Tele or Stepdown experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
