About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health Intake at its South Campus. The Behavioral Health Services team connects patients with behavioral health services and support in a safe, therapeutic environment. The 83-bed campus offers 24-hour security, 12-hour shifts, and strong physician and administrative support. Nurses collaborate with clinicians, physicians, and leadership to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a culture that supports autonomy, professional growth, and work-life balance. This is a PRN position.

Requirements

• Current state RN license.
• Active North Carolina single-state RN license or compact license; if relocating, update licensure to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• Handle With Care certification within 30 days of hire.
• Two years of Behavioral Health/Psych experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation from referrals and accept patients.
• Gather information and make determinations in less than 15 minutes in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
• Conduct accurate patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to each patient's condition and age.
• Complete timely and appropriate medical-necessity documentation in the medical record.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.
