About The Position

Registered Nurses provide medical and psychiatric support in a person's community, meeting clients where they are at on their journey to recovery. This role offers work/life balance while serving clients with mental illness who often lack access to adequate healthcare. Through care planning, assessment, and implementation, the nurse will be an integral part of a client's growth and recovery, working closely with clinical teams including consulting psychiatrists and medical doctors. Responsibilities include providing health education and training, removing healthcare barriers through home visits, developing treatment plans, administering medication, scheduling appointments, coordinating care, attending to medically related emergencies or crises, and logging client medical care. The culture is collaborative and supportive, offering tools and resources for client care, with opportunities for training and professional development in areas like harm reduction and trauma-informed care. The schedule is standard business hours with rare weekend and evening appointments.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Passion for mental health advocacy
  • Desire to provide compassionate care
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Good writing skills
  • Strong time management and organization
  • A valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and daily access to your own car
  • Willingness to provide transportation to clients

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and psychiatric support in the community.
  • Develop treatment plans to meet client needs.
  • Administer medication.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate care.
  • Attend to medically related emergencies or crises and provide intervention.
  • Log client medical care.
  • Provide health education and training on topics relevant to client wellbeing.
  • Conduct home visits to remove barriers to healthcare.
