About The Position
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse provides specialized, patient-centered care by assessing, monitoring, and supporting patients throughout endoscopic procedures. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team, educates patients and families, and ensures safe, effective care through clinical judgment, technical expertise, and accurate documentation. This is an onsite, per diem position at Arnot Health, with travel between St. Joseph and Arnot Hospital. Shifts are 10 or 12 hours between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; the position has no call or holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Current New York State registered professional nurse license, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, or to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- One year of Endoscopy experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients with a variety of needs and use a person-centered approach to develop care plans and prioritize expected and unanticipated patient needs.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Use technical skills competently and resourcefully to care for patients.
- Remain current with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care, follow through on care delivery, make appropriate clinical decisions, proactively address actual and potential problems, and complete compliant clinical documentation.
- Assist with educating patients and families and serve as a resource on departmental patient-care standards.
