New Grad, Medical Step Down
About The Position
Baystate Health is seeking inpatient Registered Nurses for their Medical Stepdown unit. This unit is a 42-bed facility equipped with bedside hemodynamic monitoring and 24-hour monitoring systems. It also includes 21 medical beds with telemetry capabilities and continuous oxygen monitoring. The unit frequently cares for patients requiring tracheostomy ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen. The unit is supported by a nurse educator, an evening clinical nurse coordinator, respiratory therapy, on-site APP/MD, and ancillary support staff including monitor technicians, ambulation technicians, PCTs, and operations assistants. Baystate Health is the only major referral care center and the only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center in the area. They offer supportive, individualized, and tailored orientation.
Requirements
- Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination.
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
- Diploma in Nursing (Required)
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association certification.

Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients on a Medical Stepdown unit.
- Monitor patients with telemetry capabilities and continuous O2 monitoring.
- Care for trached vent dependent patients.
- Manage BiPAP/CPAP rescue needs and Hi Flow O2 delivery systems.
- Utilize bedside hemodynamic measuring equipment.
