RN Acute Care Unit -FT/NIGHTS
About The Position
Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Unit. In this role, you’ll provide patient-centered care by recognizing individual needs related to age, culture, and learning styles. Requirements
- Must have an active valid Maine RN license.
- Meets the unit’s annual competency training requirements.
- Obtains BLS certification within 3 months and maintain certification thereafter.
- Complete Basic Cardiac Course within one year of hire to department.
Responsibilities
- Completes admission assessment and recognizes actual and potential health problems.
- Completes admission assessment within 8 hours of admission (provisions made/documented i.e., Functional/Cognitive Status).
- Completes nursing assessment on assigned patients promptly and adequately, within an hour, to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
- Performs medication list verification upon admission along with review of allergies.
- Continuously assesses patient response to illness intervention and use of critical thinking to problem solve. Documents completely and accurately.
- Effectively utilizes telemetry and camera systems.
