About The Position

The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a part-time opportunity for an experienced NICU RN. This is a 16-bed NICU unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month. The hospital is a 322-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving the community since 1973. Texas Health HEB is ANCC Magnet Designated, Joint Commission-certified in Chest Pain (PHAC), a Primary Stroke Center, a Level III Trauma Center, Level II NICU and Level III for maternal care. As part of the Texas Health family and its 28,000+ employees, it is one of the largest employers in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire
• NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation within 90 days of hire
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
• Current NICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
