About The Position

DaVita is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide care and support to patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease in an outpatient dialysis center. No dialysis experience is required; DaVita provides 10 weeks of paid on-the-job training. The role may require floating to various clinics as needed.

The schedule is 3–4 days per week, with shifts lasting 10–14 hours. There is no on-call work, overnight work, or major-holiday work. Start times may be as early as 4:00 a.m. The nurse builds relationships with patients and families, delivers individualized care to patients with multiple co-morbidities, and oversees a group of patients with support from patient care technicians (PCTs).

Requirements

• Be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana.
• An Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) is required.
• No dialysis experience is required; paid on-the-job training is provided.

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.).
• Previous experience in an Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, Emergency Room, or Medical Surgical setting.
• Previous dialysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Build long-term relationships with patients and their families in an outpatient setting.
• Deliver care to patients with multiple co-morbidities, using individualized treatment plans and a broad range of nursing skills and knowledge.
• Oversee a group of patients with support from PCTs.
• Conduct patient observations and measure patient statistics.
• Set up dialysis machines.
• Float to various clinics on an as-needed basis.
