About The Position

MUSC Leatherman is looking for a Part-Time experienced RN to join their Adolescent Empath Team! This role provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The nurse directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. The position focuses on patient/family centered care, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with MUSC policies. The role also involves maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment, ensuring patient privacy, and demonstrating responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Active participation in a professional practice model is expected, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, and professional development to promote leadership and clinical excellence. The nurse will coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles, identify clinical priorities, and initiate action to improve patient outcomes. A healthy work environment and personal responsibility for professional growth are also emphasized.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).

  • Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model.
