About The Position

The Orthopedic Neurology Unit (4NW) at Waukesha Memorial Hospital is a 31-bed mixed acuity care unit specializing in the dynamic care of orthopedic and neurological patients. Orthopedic care includes treating patients recovering from traumatic fractures, extremity injuries, and back pain, including post-surgical joint patients requiring safe and early mobilization. Neurology care involves caring for medical and surgical neurological patients, including stroke, movement disorders, traumatic brain and spinal injuries, and neurosurgical cases. The team is NIHSS stroke certified, and all caregivers receive specialized training to ensure safe, high-quality care. The unit is proud to represent two Centers of Excellence recognized by the Joint Commission: Joint Replacement Center of Excellence (Hip & Knee) and Stroke Center of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • NIHSS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
