About The Position

Tryfacta is seeking a Registered Nurse for our client in Brooktondale, NY 14817. This is a 106-week contract assignment. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care and interventions to youth in a juvenile correctional setting. Responsibilities include medication administration, health assessment and monitoring, developing nursing intervention plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The nurse will also be responsible for documentation, maintaining infection control standards, and providing nursing support in a secure juvenile residential/correctional environment.

Requirements

  • Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
  • Knowledge of comprehensive nursing care and systematic nursing problem-solving approaches.
  • Experience with medication administration and medication management.
  • Knowledge of controlled substances and narcotic medication procedures.
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans.
  • Strong documentation, record-keeping, and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide healthcare services in a juvenile correctional or secure residential setting.
  • Ability to follow applicable regulatory requirements, facility policies, and nursing standards.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care and interventions to youth in a juvenile correctional setting.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established nursing procedures, treatment plans, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of medications, controlled substances, and narcotics.
  • Assess and monitor the overall health condition of youth.
  • Develop, review, and evaluate individualized nursing intervention plans.
  • Ensure nursing interventions are consistent with comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Monitor and document changes in youth health conditions and provide appropriate follow-up care.
  • Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide and participate in staff training related to healthcare and nursing practices.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical and administrative nursing reports and documentation.
  • Maintain infection control standards and follow applicable healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Provide nursing support in a secure juvenile residential/correctional environment.
  • Collaborate with facility staff and healthcare professionals to promote the health and safety of youth.
  • Perform additional nursing duties and responsibilities as assigned.
