Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to collect comprehensive data, analyze assessment data, identify expected outcomes, develop a plan, implement the plan, ensure patient progression, coordinate care delivery, employ strategies for health teaching and promotion, provide consultation, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
  • Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010) to enhance nursing practice quality and effectiveness, attain knowledge and competency, evaluate personal practice, interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers, collaborate with patients and families, integrate ethical provisions and research findings into practice, consider safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact in planning and delivery of services, provide leadership, and practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
  • Supports the purpose, vision, and values of Monument Health.
  • Practices within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by the state and delivers competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, regulators, and accrediting/certifying organizations.
  • Abides by the Provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).
  • Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and accesses other work-related applications.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem-solving.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
