HOPEWESTGrand Junction, CO

About The Position

At HopeWest, you will be the nurse patients and families call “angels,” providing compassionate care, strength and courage. This is more than a job; it is a calling. Hospice nursing allows you to connect with the reasons you became a nurse, use your experience and education, and find the joy of reward in the care you provide. This is life-changing work! Hospice Nurses are “teachers” – helping patients identify their own personal goals of care and helping caregivers have confidence in caring for their family member. They are generalists on all diseases and specialists in symptom management, requiring excellence in assessment and critical thinking. Hospice nurses thrive at HopeWest, an environment which fosters personalized care. There is opportunity to grow through regular education offerings as well as support to achieve a certification in Hospice & Palliative Nursing (CHPN). The Ferris Care Center (FCC) team provides short-term care in a home-like setting where friends and family can be present during the most difficult times. Nurses focus on intensive medical end-of-life care for patients who can no longer be at home but would rather not be hospitalized. Our approach to care includes comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support. This full-time role has an on-call requirement of 2 shifts/month. There is flexibility in arranging your schedule, which provides a work/life balance allowing time for personal needs. Our orientation process is 2 weeks of Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.
