About The Position

The University of Minnesota Medical Center is looking for Registered Nurses to join their growing Hospital Observation unit 1B team. This position is a .7 FTE (56 hours per 2 week pay period) on the evening shifts (3pm-11:30pm) working 8 hour shifts and every other weekend rotation. The RN on the Observation team will help adult patients with outpatient care, much like an ED. We deliver excellent patient care to patients from same day surgery as well as transfers from all units; lots of variety! The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN will perform these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Requirements

  • MN RN License
  • BLS required
  • AD required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or higher preferred
  • Certification in related specialty is helpful
  • One year of current medical/surgical RN experience in a hospital setting is desired
