The Registered Nurse is responsible for supporting the hospital's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan within a team-oriented environment. Nurses must comply with all laws, regulations, and standards of accrediting agencies and professional organizations, maintaining professionalism in appearance and behavior. The RN assigned to the OB Unit will provide safe, timely, effective, quality, age-appropriate, culture-appropriate, cost-conscious, and evidence-based care using the nursing process and a holistic approach. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising patient care according to organizational policies. The RN will provide clinical leadership and may be assigned to other units based on patient census and staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Associates Nursing - Required
  • State of Ohio RN licensure - required
  • BCLS, ACLS and NRP certification - required
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. course - required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Nursing - Preferred
  • Years of Experience 1-3 - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Moves throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assists in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrates the physical, clinical, and professional capacity to provide direct patient care as described in the tasks and duties of this position.
  • Coordinates patient care as assigned, which includes assessing and interpreting patient care information and data.
  • Provides appropriate patient and family education.
  • Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
  • Maintains high standards for professional nursing practice.
  • Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
  • Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family members in discussion of nursing plan of care, medications, consultations with physicians and discharge instructions. Encourages PSP / family member presence at the patient's bedside and participation in the patient's care.
