About The Position

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. The position is located at North Port ECC and is a full-time night shift role working 36 hours per week. Hourly pay is determined by the candidate’s years of RN experience, education level, and internal equity. The stated range is $33.50 to $51.60 per hour. Candidates holding an approved certification may qualify for an additional $1.50 per hour in certification pay. Individuals providing care to vulnerable populations must undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Requirements

At least one year of emergency RN experience.
Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a nursing diploma program.
For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe specified in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
Upon completion of department orientation, obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke PSA/ACE during orientation, or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention certification, as specified in the posting.
Within one year of completing department orientation, obtain Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and S.T.A.B.L.E. certification/course.
Maintain all certifications thereafter.
Hold an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Hold a Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification.
Hold a Florida Registered Nurse (FL RN) license.
Undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse when providing care to vulnerable populations.
