About The Position

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 17-bed adult Neuro-Surgical ICU, which cares for critically ill neuroscience and neurosurgical patients, including people with stroke, head and spinal cord trauma, and brain hemorrhage. Nurses in this specialty monitor intracranial pressures, brain tissue oxygenation, and hemodynamic status, and use a family-centered approach when caring for patients. They work closely with neuro-intensivists, physician assistants, and advanced practice registered nurses to deliver high-quality care. Critical care nurses provide skilled bedside expertise and compassionate care. The unit relies on a team-based approach, with healthcare team members working together to achieve the best outcomes in keeping with Hartford HealthCare’s values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity, and Caring. This is a 36-hour night position, with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday work.

Requirements

Current Connecticut RN license.
Graduation from an accredited nursing school; a BSN is required.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association, ACLS certification, and proof of Arrhythmia Certification are required before the date of hire.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of one year of acute care RN experience is strongly preferred.
In exceptional circumstances, experienced ASN/ADN nurses pursuing a BSN or MSN may be considered.
