About The Position

Provides clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting, fostering patient- and family-centered care. Demonstrates clinical competency using evidence-based practices and research throughout the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. Incorporates safety protocols, cost containment, and quality improvement into care, and identifies patient, unit, and organizational priorities. Follows organizational policies and procedures, maintains licensure and required training, and provides care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements, including TJC, SC DPH, and CMS. The acute inpatient setting may require weekend, holiday, and on-call work. The nurse provides patient and family education, supports discharge planning and continuity of care, documents and communicates pertinent information, contributes to quality improvement, and maintains professional competency and accountability. This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The position is bonus eligible.
