About The Position

This is a full-time, 12-hour night shift position in the Critical Progressive Care Unit (PCU), also known as a Step-Down Unit (SDU). The PCU bridges the gap between the ICU and general care, where nurses care for complex patients with higher acuity needs, including cardiac drips, post-op recovery, telemetry, and respiratory support. The role involves monitoring, assessing, and responding to patient conditions in real-time, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, educating patients and families, and documenting care in the EHR system. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • RN Indiana License
  • CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days
  • One Year RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients with higher acuity needs including cardiac drips, post-op recovery, telemetry, respiratory support, and more
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to patient conditions in real-time
  • Collaborate with providers, therapists, pharmacists, and fellow nurses to deliver coordinated care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health promotion
  • Document assessments, medications, and interventions in our EHR system with accuracy and timeliness
  • Implement, direct, communicate, and document the nursing process in accordance with current established standards of care and the Indiana Nurse Practice Act
  • Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues
