About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Emergency Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As an Emergency Pediatric RN, you will educate patients and families throughout the continuum of care, while also striving to advance your own knowledge and skills. You will serve as a role model to Level I nurses, use electronic resources to support best practices, and demonstrate professionalism, adherence to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify Adventist HealthCare values. You will use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness. You will develop a plan of care according to the patient population, accurately identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action. Additionally, you will mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care, conduct purposeful rounding from a patient and family perspective, conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice, and identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based practice changes.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Passing score on NCLEX
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care
• Advance own knowledge and skills through careful consideration of feedback and guidance provided by more senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses
