Registered Nurse (RN) - 6B Medical Observation and Behavioral Health

American Addiction CentersCharlotte, NC
$38 - $57Onsite

About The Position

6B Medical is Carolina Medical Center’s unique medical observation nursing unit specifically designed to help manage the behavioral health population in the acute care setting who are awaiting inpatient psychiatric transfers. Our team works very closely with our emergency room partners, hospitalists, consulting psychiatric liaison providers, as well as our Behavioral Health Patient Placement partners to ensure our vulnerable population is quickly transitioned to a facility that offers specific services to meet their individual needs. With that said, our specialty is also unique in that we see a wide variety of patients in our setting that includes many diagnoses from addiction to Alzheimer’s, as well as brain injury, other traumas, and at times postpartum and maternity patients with mental illness. Even though we primarily focus on the observation patient awaiting transfer to inpatient psych care facilities we do have those who cannot transfer until medically cleared therefore our Med/Surg skills are utilized but typically less than what one would see on a typical fast pasted medical/surgical unit. Our hope is to onboard the right new teammates who have a strong passion for the hard to care for patient population and a desire to offer hope to those desperately in need of human kindness. We are a very tight-knit family unit looking for someone with a servant’s heart and an openness for daily learning experiences with a willingness to participate as a contributing member of the team.
