About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the 20-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), caring for patients with complex medical needs, including those undergoing open-heart surgery, aneurysm repair, and heart or lung transplant. The unit has PT/OT services seven days a week, two Respiratory Therapists present at all times, APP team coverage until 2300, and attending physician coverage 24/7.

The role requires thorough knowledge of the nursing process and nursing practice, use of a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies, and a professional demeanor when responding to patients. The nurse must comply with organizational policies and standards and protect patients’ Protected Health Information (PHI). Other duties may be assigned, and department-specific responsibilities are provided during orientation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the nursing process and nursing practice.
• Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Ohio.
• Current BLS Provider Certification issued by the American Heart Association; must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
• Minimum diploma or associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
