About The Position

The Registered Nurse uses nursing knowledge and ability to apply the nursing process and develop a plan of care. The plan includes standards of practice and addresses patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs. Nurses work collaboratively with other practitioners and focus on patient care and outcomes. The role may require floating or reassignment to another department, unit, office, or location as needed.

Requirements

• BSN or Associate Degree.
• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, and PALS.
• Complete Health Care Provider CPR training from the American Heart Association.
• Successfully complete the unit-based competency package and unit-specific requirements.
• Strong team skills.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including repeatedly lifting more than 50 pounds throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

• One year of clinical nursing experience in an acute or subacute care environment is preferred.
• Certification from a professional nursing body is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to develop a plan of care that meets the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families.
• Collaborate with other practitioners to support patient care and positive outcomes.
• Float or accept reassignment to another department, unit, office, or location as needed.
• Complete general orientation, annual fire/safety and infection-control education, required training programs, and unit-based competencies.
