About The Position

Orlando Health is expanding its healthcare services in Polk County and beyond with the new Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital, a state-of-the-art, seven-story, multi-specialty hospital. This facility will feature over 300 inpatient beds, 69 emergency and observation beds, 11 operating rooms, and four cardiac interventional suites. The hospital will offer comprehensive cardiovascular, neurology, and oncology services, along with advanced surgical procedures and dedicated labor and delivery services. Orlando Health is seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses to join their growing Perioperative Services team. This opportunity is for experienced and aspiring perioperative nurses interested in roles within the Operating Room (OR), Pre-Operative (PreOp), Perioperative Services, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The roles involve circulating, preparing patients for surgery, recovering patients after anesthesia, or providing exceptional perioperative care within a collaborative surgical team.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) license
Experience in perioperative nursing (OR, PreOp, Perioperative Services, PACU)
Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to monitor patient condition and respond to changes
Skills in patient and family education
Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation
Knowledge of patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement
Ability to support a positive, team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

Experience in circulating
Experience in preparing patients for surgery
Experience in recovering patients after anesthesia
Experience in providing exceptional perioperative care

Responsibilities

Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care throughout the surgical experience.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support a positive, team-oriented environment focused on exceptional patient care.
