Requirements

Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer
Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.
Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects.
Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.

5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
Bachelors degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform comprehensive data collection pertinent to the Healthcare consumer’s health and/or the situation.
Analyzes assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues.
Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the Healthcare consumer or situation.
Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
Implements the identified plan and ensures patient progression along the plan.
Coordinates care delivery.
Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Provides consultation to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others, and effect change.
Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010), including enhancing practice quality and effectiveness, attaining knowledge and competency, evaluating practice in relation to standards and regulations, interacting with and contributing to the professional development of peers, collaborating with patient and others, integrating ethical provisions, integrating research findings, and considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice.
Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
Supports the purpose, vision, and values of Monument Health.
Practices within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by the state and delivers competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, regulators, and accrediting/certifying organizations.
