The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Clinical Resource Unit (CRU) is responsible for providing care within the Medical Surge Tele Emergency Room Float RN role. This part-time position involves working 24 hours a week, typically from 7pm to 7am, and may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The role operates within a 46-bed ER Unit that is a Level 2 Trauma center. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position also involves administering medications and treatments, demonstrating effective communication and delegation, pursuing professional development, and adhering to ethical practices. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is essential. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development.
