The Registered Nurse will provide care to PCU-level patients on a Neuro/Stroke PCU floor serving adolescents through geriatric patients. The unit also cares for respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patients. Nurses are required to titrate cardiac drips and use continuous telemetry monitoring. At present, RNs are expected to perform their own vital sign and blood glucose checks. The unit has 36 beds and an average daily census of 30, with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Nurses may float within the facility and their scope of practice as needed. The role includes every-other-weekend work unless otherwise specified; holiday work is determined by the number of major holidays during the assignment period. Call is not required. No block scheduling is available. The position uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR. Navy blue scrubs are required. Travelers may request up to seven days of time off; Spring Break (April 4–12) is a blackout period. Full compliance is required before the scheduled start, with a two-week start delay possible because orientation occurs biweekly. Non-billable orientation hours depend on the contract length.
