About The Position

The Professional Staff Nurse plans, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and/or designee. The role performs a variety of direct and indirect patient-care duties and other duties as assigned. The nurse assesses patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs; develops and implements written plans of care; provides teaching and guidance to patients, families, and staff; communicates and documents patient activities, needs, and assessments; and evaluates patients’ responses to interventions and teaching.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
• BLS certification.
• Successful completion of the GSMC medication test.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of a Basic EKG course within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum experience: 0 to less than 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
• Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
• Provide teaching and guidance to patients and/or families, as well as staff members.
• Implement the nursing plan of care for assigned patients.
• Communicate and document patient activities, needs, and assessments.
• Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions and teaching.
• Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient-care duties and other duties as assigned.
