About The Position
The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development. Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
- Specialty certifications
- New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care.
- Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
- Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
- Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
- Ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
